When the air is trapped, the screws turn and reduce the volume of the compression chamber. Following the physics of the Ideal Gas Law (PV=nRT), this turn increases pressure and compresses the air.
The compressed air then exits the compressor and can be used for any end application. These applications range from pneumatic tools to industrial paint systems.
